Hello there.

You may call my Doc.

What might your name be, little one?

<)) oh, hi there.

<)) didn’t see this until now. awfffully sorry.

<)) anyway, my name is zerdal cetera.

Ah, it’s quite alright. It is a pleasure to meet you.

My, my. How boring.

I suppose I could just wait for the next thing to happen, but where’s the fun in that?

One sometimes needs company to let time pass.

Would anyone enjoy a conversation?

(( Meep. ))

A warning to Role Players and Role Play accounts alike. [And everyone else on tumblr]

churchofcas:

So today I have found out something that is quite the damper on the RPing community and social interaction in general here on tumblr.

I have a friend that I rp with quite a bit here on tumblr and it’s usually through asks so as not to clog up my followers’ dash board, since my blog isn’t specifically rp based. So of course I do this out of niceness to my followers. This was never a problem for the rper and I, other than the occasional swallowed ask or two.

Well lately tumblr has been taking my asks and completely devouring them whole, no matter who they seem to be sent to, uncluding this rper, so I frequently have to send two, sometimes three before this person even gets the ask. This has been happening with regular conversations with people here on tumblr as well.

This brings me to my main point of this post:

Due to the fact I’ve been sending so many asks, I have been marked as spam on not only said rpers blog, but potentionally on a couple of other peoples’ blogs. The reason I know this is not an action that someone has taken themselves, for the most part, is that this rper and I started talking about how I saw she had unfollowed me on this character’s account and she was baffled. She hadn’t unfollowed me at all and in fact she was wondering why I hadn’t been talking with her character all day, considering it’s Valentines day and such.

I had been sending asks all day. I sent an anon one and it went straight through to her though.

We did a little digging, because this was /strange/ and she knew, for a fact, she never unfollowed me ever.

Apparently tumblr is now filtering people on their own without the consent of the owner of the blog. My account was blocked on her’s and marked as “spam” and she had never even toched the block button. Tumblr did it all on it’s own.

So beause of my ammount of ask sending a day to this one person, I’ve been marked as spam and now I have to wait until everything starts filtering back and I can reblog and send her asks properly again.

I ADVISE YOU CHECK YOUR BLOCKED LIST JUST IN CASE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MIGHT HAVE ENDED UP THERE!

I urge you all to report this, missing e or not. if you have to, uninstall it long enough to send in a report, especially if someone’s been blocked on your account.

I know tumblr has been looking for easier was to block out spam and keep away bots from harrassing people but putting up such a loosely coded filter will only end up bringing drama and a lot of unwanted emotions, especially without the bloggers’ consent.

Please spread this word to everyone you know, rper or not. Everyone needs to see this. Everyone needs to know to at least check and make sure no one has been blocked on their accounts wrongly. I’m not saying we should all go picket David Karpp’s front yard but I am saying that there is a clear line that’s been crossed here on the terms of privacy and use and it’s unjust to sit here and let it continue happening.
